What Shopify invoice apps cost at 500, 1,000, and 5,000 orders a month
The published prices of Order Printer Pro, Sufio, Vify, Shopify Order Printer, and Docket, worked out at three real order volumes, and why the bill moves when the store grows.
Pricing & BillingPart of: Docket pricing
At 500 orders a month, Order Printer Pro is $10, Sufio $49, Vify from $10.99, Shopify Order Printer free, Docket $9.99. At 5,000 orders: $20, $49, from $10.99, free, $9.99. Past 5,000, Order Printer Pro moves to $40 and Sufio to $129. Docket stays at $9.99. All prices are the apps’ own, checked August 2026.
What do Shopify invoice apps charge on?
Four different things, which is why the price lists are hard to compare at a glance.
Order Printer Pro charges on your store’s total order count for the month, whether or not you printed a document for those orders. Free up to 50 orders, then $10 a month from 51 to 500, $20 from 501 to 5,000, and $40 above that.
Sufio charges on invoices generated: $7 a month for 15 invoices, $19 for 50, $49 for 5,000, and $129 for unlimited. There is no free plan. If you invoice every order, the invoice count is the order count.
Vify charges on features. A free plan covers the 50 most recent orders, and the paid tiers at $10.99, $29.99, and $69.99 add capabilities rather than volume.
Shopify Order Printer, the free app maintained by Shopify, charges nothing at any volume. It prints from Liquid templates, up to 50 orders at a time, with no automated delivery and no stored copies.
Docket charges a flat subscription. $9.99 USD monthly or $99.99 USD annually, one Unlimited offering, never metered by order count or document count.
What does each app cost at 500, 1,000, and 5,000 orders a month?
The table assumes one invoice per order, which is what “automatic invoices” means in practice. Prices are per month.
| Orders a month | Order Printer Pro | Sufio | Vify | Shopify Order Printer | Docket |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $10 | $49 | from $10.99 | Free | $9.99 |
| 1,000 | $20 | $49 | from $10.99 | Free | $9.99 |
| 5,000 | $20 | $49 | from $10.99 | Free | $9.99 |
| 5,001 and up | $40 | $129 | from $10.99 | Free | $9.99 |
Vify’s “from” is doing honest work: the $10.99 tier is the entry price, and the feature you need may sit on the $29.99 or $69.99 tier. Its price does not move with order volume, which is a point in its favor for growing stores; what moves is which tier holds the feature.
Shopify Order Printer’s free is real. What you give up is automation, delivery, and storage, and the cost of maintaining Liquid templates. Our comparison lays out exactly what it does and does not do.
Why does the bill go up when the store grows?
Because two of the five apps meter. Order Printer Pro’s tiers are keyed to order count, so a store crossing 500 orders in a month doubles its bill, and crossing 5,000 doubles it again, without printing a single extra document. Sufio’s tiers are keyed to invoice count, so a store that invoices every order climbs the same way, from $19 to $49 at 50 invoices and to $129 past 5,000.
Metering is a reasonable model when each unit costs the vendor something. Generating a PDF does not. The tiers are keyed to the store’s growth because growth is a convenient thing to price on, not because the five-thousandth invoice costs more to make than the fiftieth.
Docket’s position is that the document app should not take a percentage of your growth. One price, and it is the same price at 50 orders a month and at 50,000. The pricing page states it and the retention rules in plain terms.
What does “free” cover?
Three of the five have a free tier, and they mean different things by it.
Order Printer Pro is free up to 50 orders a month. The moment the store does 51, the $10 tier applies to the whole month.
Vify’s free plan covers your 50 most recent orders. It is a rolling window, not a monthly allowance; older orders fall out of it.
Shopify Order Printer is free, full stop, at any volume.
Docket has no free tier. Both intervals begin with a Shopify-native 14-day trial after you approve the charge, and the trial is the full app.
What does a store pay over a year?
Take a store at 1,200 orders a month, which is a busy but ordinary Shopify shop.
Order Printer Pro at the $20 tier is $240 a year. Sufio at $49 is $588. Vify on the $10.99 tier is $131.88, or $359.88 if the feature you need is on the $29.99 tier. Shopify Order Printer is $0 plus whatever your time editing templates is worth. Docket is $119.88 monthly or $99.99 on the annual interval, which is two months free.
Now take the same store after a good year, at 5,500 orders a month. Order Printer Pro is $480 a year. Sufio is $1,548. Vify and Shopify Order Printer are unchanged. Docket is unchanged.
Which one should I pick?
If you never want to pay for documents and you are comfortable in Liquid, Shopify Order Printer is the honest answer, and plenty of stores run on it for years.
If you need translated documents, e-invoicing formats, or the broadest customization, Vify and Sufio publish those capabilities and Docket does not; the Sufio and Vify comparisons list what each has that we lack.
If you want the category leader’s depth and social proof and your volume sits comfortably inside one tier, Order Printer Pro has more than a decade on the App Store and 2,720 reviews to show for it. The comparison is fair to it.
If what you want is invoices, packing slips, credit notes, and quotes generated from Shopify events, stored as records, and delivered through Shopify’s own emails, at a price that does not move when the store does, that is Docket. $9.99 USD monthly or $99.99 USD annually, with a 14-day trial in Shopify. The invoices guide covers what happens after you install.
