Order Printer Pro pricing explained: the 50-order free plan and the $10, $20, $40 tiers
Order Printer Pro is free to 50 orders a month, then $10, $20, and $40 a month keyed to your store's total order count. What each tier includes, how the tier is set, what a year costs at three volumes, and how the billing runs through Shopify.
SwitchingPart of: Docket vs Order Printer Pro
Order Printer Pro is free for stores with up to 50 orders a month, then $10 a month from 51 to 500 orders, $20 from 501 to 5,000, and $40 from 5,001 up. The tier follows your store’s total order count, not how many documents you print. Paid tiers start with a 14-day trial through Shopify.
What does Order Printer Pro cost?
Four tiers. One variable.
| Tier | Store orders a month | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 50 | Free to install |
| Starter | 51 to 500 | $10 a month |
| Growth | 501 to 5,000 | $20 a month |
| Scale | 5,001 and up | $40 a month |
The prices are the app’s own, from its Shopify App Store listing, checked August 2026. The listing states that all charges are billed in USD and that recurring charges are billed every 30 days.
Read the middle column carefully. It says orders, not documents. A store that takes 600 orders in a month and prints 20 invoices is on the $20 tier. A store that takes 600 orders and prints nothing is on the $20 tier too.
What does the free plan include?
The same features as the paid tiers. The listing puts an identical list under every tier: print and export in bulk, print and export draft orders, automated PDF invoices, customizable templates, product, variant, and customer metafields, and order and draft order metafields.
The free plan stops at 50 orders a month. The listing’s own wording is “Free to install. $10 after exceeding 50 monthly orders.” Fifty orders a month is a store doing one or two a day. For a store that needs order paperwork in volume, the free plan is a starting point, not a plan.
How does Order Printer Pro decide which tier you are on?
By counting your store’s orders. The developer’s help center says that after the 14-day trial ends, the app will monitor your Shopify account for how many orders it generates each month, regardless of how many of those orders, or how many times, are printed or exported. The same article defines a month as a 30-day period.
So the tier is not a menu you pick from once. It tracks the store. Cross 500 orders in a 30-day period and you are in the $20 tier. Cross 5,000 and you are in the $40 tier. Nothing about your printing has to change.
This is the mechanism behind a bill that goes up when nothing seems to have changed. Something did change. The store got busier.
Do the paid tiers add features?
No. The listing shows the same feature list under Free, Starter, Growth, and Scale. The $10, $20, and $40 raise the order-count limit. The listing also mentions an e-invoicing and Peppol compliance add-on available in-app, which the tier table does not price.
The tiers gate the size of the store, not the feature set.
What does a store pay over a year?
Three stores, prices from the table.
A store at 300 orders a month sits on Starter all year. Twelve months at $10 is $120.
A store at 1,000 orders a month sits on Growth. Twelve months at $20 is $240.
A store at 6,000 orders a month sits on Scale. Twelve months at $40 is $480.
Now a store that grows. It starts the year at 400 orders a month and crosses 500 in July. Six months at $10 and six at $20 is $180. If it keeps growing and crosses 5,000 in a later year, the same arithmetic runs to $480. The bill doubled twice, and the number of documents per order never moved.
Docket at the same three volumes is $119.88 on the monthly interval or $99.99 on the annual, at 300, 1,000, and 6,000 orders alike. The broader invoice app pricing comparison applies the same arithmetic to Sufio, Vify, and Shopify Order Printer.
How does the billing run through Shopify?
Order Printer Pro does not take your card. Shopify does. The developer’s help center states that all charges are handled by Shopify using the payment details you have on file there, and that the app does not have access to them.
Shopify’s own rules then apply. Apps with subscription charges are billed on an independent, 30-day billing cycle, charged at the same time as your Shopify subscription. The trial begins when you confirm the subscription with Shopify, and while it runs the remaining days show on the app’s about page under Settings, then Apps. Plan changes are managed within the app or through the developer’s website, not from that settings page.
Two things to know before you cancel. Order Printer Pro says uninstalling the app cancels any active subscription in the app. Shopify says uninstalling an app stops future billing cycles but does not remove a pending charge already generated for your upcoming invoice. So a charge that has already been generated can still appear on that invoice. That is Shopify’s mechanism, and it applies to any app with a recurring charge, Docket included.
What does Order Printer Pro do well?
A lot, and a pricing post that pretended otherwise would not be worth your time. The app has been on the App Store since December 2014 and carries Shopify’s Built for Shopify badge. Its listing publishes translations, multi-currency, B2B and VAT support, and invoice customization in code. If your volume stays inside one tier, the price stays fixed. Those broader document and customization options may matter more than the billing model.
The disagreement is narrower than a feature list. It is what the price is keyed to.
How does Docket price the same job?
One price. Docket is $9.99 USD monthly or $99.99 USD annually, one Unlimited subscription, and it is the same price at 50 orders a month and at 50,000. The pricing page states it in full. There is no free tier. Both intervals begin with a Shopify-native 14-day trial after you approve the charge. Invoices, packing slips, credit notes, and draft-order quotes are included, with no order allowances, no document quotas, and no usage metering. A busy month does not move you into another tier, because there is no other tier.
Docket is narrower than Order Printer Pro. Four document types, English labels, settings instead of template code, and no template importer. The comparison sets the two apps side by side, and switching from Order Printer Pro covers what a move involves at your volume. The trial and billing page states what happens when billing ends and when you uninstall, and the invoices guide covers every route to an invoice on Shopify, app or no app.
When you install and approve the charge, the trial starts, and both apps can run side by side until Docket’s documents are the ones you would send.
